Athletes must be born in 1996 or 1997

A team of 15 boys and 15 girls will be selected at the end of the New Zealand Secondary Schools Championships with a team announcement one hour after the final event in Dunedin.

Athletes who wish to compete must have completed an Expression of Interest (EoI) with Athletics New Zealand. This EoI has been reopened until Saturday 8th December until 10pm. (The end of the first day of the New Zealand Secondary Schools Championships.)

Young Olympians Classic Tour
Friday 18 January to Saturday 26 January
The tour will repeat the success of the 2012 Young Olympian Tour that encompassed all three Classic meetings in the central region.
The 2013 tour offers 3 modules:
1) Hastings and Wanganui - this includes entry to the Sylvia Potts Classic in Hastings on Saturday 19th January and the Cooks Classic in Wanganui on Tuesday 22nd January.
2) Wanganui and Wellington – This includes entry to the Cooks Classic in Wanganui  and the Capital Classic in Wellington on Friday  25th January.
3) All three meetings

The tour includes coaching and other related athletic activities associated with previous Young Olympian Camps. 

Applications accepted from any athlete who is placed in the top 6 in the senior event or top 3 in junior event.

The tour is limited to 50 Athletes on any of the modules. Priority is given to top 3 athletes in Senior grade and to athletes who select module 3.
