Ted Guy died suddenly 31st August in Rotorua -  A celebration of Ted's life will be held at St Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Meura Street, Matamata on Saturday 4th September at 10.30am, followed by interment in the Matamata Cemetery   Donations in lieu of flowers will be welcome for Matamata St. John, PO Box 159, Matamata 3440, and may be left at the service Communications please c/- 30 Carroll Street, Waharoa 3401  ******************************************************     WINTER and time for Cross-Country,  Mountain running & Road races!  Our Centre athletes, Jenna Hansen, Julia Ratcliffe, Mohamed Ali, Matthew Holcroft and Anna-Lisa Uttley (from Otago) are at the  first-ever Youth Olympic Games in Singapore until 24 August... this time Jacko Gill won SILVER in the Shot, with NZ age records!! in July, older athletes, Kristie Baillie, Mike Cochrane, Joseph Millar and Aaron Pulford were at the World Junior Champs in Moncton, Canada: Aaron was 5th and shattered the NZ M19 10000m record! Takapuna's Jacko Gill won GOLD in the Shot, with NZ age records!_______________________________________________________ THANKS to all Volunteers - for your time and energy ensuring that our athletes (young and old ) get coaching, encouragement and support to become the very best they can be, and that our sport  of Athletics continues to prosper... because of YOU!
