Callan Moody of Ariki won the Edmond Cup Main Open Men's race. He finished just 2 seconds ahead of his clubmate Nathan "Guns" Baxter in bitingly cold hail and sleety conditions on Saturday 6 June 09 at Wingatui Race Course. Caversham's Lyndon Brown was third just 13 seconds back with Hill City's Ollie O'Sullivan three seconds behind Brown and Tony Payne of Caversham another second adrift in a very close tussle for fourth place with optimum team placings very much in these guys' minds. The Ariki team of Moody, Baxter, Stafford Thompson, Chris Weddell, Simon Kerr and Tim Dobier took out the team prize. Photo Album and report will be out on Sunday.
Kirsty Morris of Leith won the Women's Race at the Edmond Cup XC races held at Wingatui Race Course on Saturday 6 June. She spearheaded a fine win for the 3-person Leith team with Sue Cuthbert 2nd and Rosie Hodson 5th. Greta Knarston of OUHC was in third place.
