The 2008 Otago Road Championships were held on Saturday 20 September 2008 at the wharf circuit perfect sunny weather conditions with a stiff North Easterly breeze blowing.

Championship Report Summary
Callan Moody of Ariki won the Senior Men's 10km Road Championships in 32 minutes 31 seconds in a close tussle with Oliver O'Sullivan (Hill City) who finished just 5 seconds behind in second place. Third was Jason Palmer of Leith in 34 minutes 24 seconds.
Master runner Mike Wakelin (Hill City) crossed the line first in fastest time of 32 minutes 21 seconds to win the Master Men's race. Glen Ferguson of Leith finished in second place in 32 minutes 53 seconds with Leith's David Rush third in 35 minutes 13 seconds.
Shireen Crumpton of Hill City won the Senior Women's 10km Road Race title comfortably in 34 minutes 47 seconds. Second was Paula Whiting (Hill City) in 36 minutes 27 seconds and third was Leith's Kirsty Morris in 37 minutes 7 seconds. Hill City won the team's title.
Caversham's Tony Payne showed his dominance in the Men's 19 and Under 8km race by achieving a comfortable win in 25 minutes 58 seconds. Lyndon Brown of Caversham finished second in 27 minutes 53 seconds. Otago University's Matt Gibbons finished third in 28 minutes 26 seconds. Caversham also won the team's title.
The women's 19 Otago Road Championship title went to Andrea Peat of Otago University who finished second over the 5km distance in 20 minutes 15 seconds. Visiting athlete Flossie van Dyke of Nelson won the race in 19 minute 58 seconds. Hill City's Romana Salis (20:20) finished third overall and second in the Otago Road Championships while Olivia Robb of Caversham (20:36) finished fourth overall and third in the Otago Road Championships.
