We have received information that the International Federation of Athletes with Intellectual Impairments ("INAS") has invited New Zealand to compete in the 2019 INAS Global Games, to be held in Brisbane, Australia on 12 - 19 October.
Athletics NZ are required to submit estimate numbers to INAS in early December 2018, in order to secure a spot at the Games. Therefore, we urge all interested athletes to express your interest by Wednesday 28 November.
Expressing interest does not lock athletes into competing, it just allows Athletics NZ to get a number to the INAS and confirm our willingness to partake.
To be considered eligible to compete as an athlete with an intellectual impairment, athletes must meet the eligibility criteria as defined by INAS. Further information on this can be found here.
Entry Standards for the Games can be found here.
Travel insurance, international flights, domestic flights and any other related costs will be arranged by the athlete at their own expense. Athletes will compete in their club or region's competition kit.
If you are interested in competing, please contact Jess Jones by 5:00pm Wednesday 28 November with the following information:
- Full Name
- NZ Passport number
- Relevant recent results (if any)
