Caden Shields added to Doha 2019 World Championships Team

A further addition to the Doha 2019 World Championships team has been confirmed with Caden Shields in the marathon event. This brings the team to a total of 13 athletes preparing to compete in Doha.

Nick Willis was also conditionally selected back in April, based on his top 12 placing at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games. Subject to being eligible for entry, we anticipate Nick officially joining the team after the end of the qualification period, Friday 6 September,Previously selected athletes Jake Robertson and Eliza McCartney have both withdrawn from the team to focus on their respective Tokyo build ups. Zane Robertson, who bettered the required marathon performance standard, has made himself unavailable for selection to also focus on his Tokyo preparation.
