2018 INTERNATIONAL CLASSIFICATION

 

2018 International Classification for athletes with a Physical and Intellectual Impairment will take place at the 2018 Victorian Open and Para Track & Field Championships, Melbourne Australia. All Athletes wishing to attain an international classification, must enter the competition in a relevant event they wish to be classified in, and must complete the necessary paperwork with World Para Athletics prior to being classified.

International Classification details will be as follows:

Classification Dates: Tuesday, 27th of February - Thursday, 1st of March 2018

Event Location: Lakeside Stadium - Aughtie Drive , Albert Park VIC

Event Dates: Friday, 2nd of March - Sunday, 4th of March 2018

Event Registration: Closes - Sunday, February 18th 2018 11:58 PM - AEST

ATHLETES WITH A PHYSICAL IMPAIRMENT

1. Athletes must read the PI Preparing for International Classification Document - Click here to download the document 

2. Register their interest in attending classification by completing the online nomination - Click here to register your interest online

3. Athletes must download, complete and return the WPA PI Medical Diagnostics Form - Click here to download the WPA PI Medical Diagnostics Form

4. Athletes must register for a 2018 World Para Athletics License - Click here for WPA License Information 

5. Enter the Victorian Open & Para Athletics Championships -  Click here to enter the event 

 

 

ATHLETES WITH AN INTELLECTUAL IMPAIRMENT

1. Athletes must read the II Preparing for International Classification Document - Click here to download the document 

2. Register their interest in attending classification by completing the online nomination - Click here to register your interest online

3. Athletes Must ensure they appear on the INAS Classification Master List - Click here to view the INAS master list

4. Athletes must download, complete and return the WPA II TSAL Form - Click here to download the form

5. Athletes must register for a 2018 World Para Athletics License - Click here for WPA License Information

Important Notes;

 

*Athletes with an Intellectual Impairment must compete in the event they wish to be classified for - Shot put or Long Jump (Intellectually Impaired athletes wishing to be classified in Track can compete in either the 400 or 1500 meters).

* Please note that there will be no opportunity for International Classification for athletes with a Visual Impairment at this event.
