Quentin Rew became New Zealand’s most gymnastic race walker after he capped of his first national championship win in 2009 with a forward roll over the finish line. He was later disqualified but this did not stop the happy go lucky ex-runner turned walker take to the world of race walking with ease

Over the past 4 years he has walked in last year’s World Championships in Daegu and taken more than an hour off his 50km walk personal best culminating with an Olympic qualifying and personal best time of 3h 58m 48s when he finished 9th at the IAAF Walking Challenge in Dundince, Slovakia in March this year. Quentin sits at 3rd on the New Zealand all time list going into his first Olympics.
