Born in Rotorua, Sarah started out her national and international track career as a jumper, and represented New Zealand at the World University Games in the High Jump. She then transitioned to the heptathlon with great success representing New Zealand at events overseas and going on to qualify and compete at the London 2012 Olympics. She sits at number two on the New Zealand all-time list for high jump with a jump of 1.91m. This will be Sarah’s second Commonwealth Games after she competed at and placed 10th in the Heptathlon in Melbourne 2006. Ranked in the top 10 for the Commonwealth heading into the Glasgow Games, Sarah will be pushing to leap over the 1.90m mark and have a crack at her PB and a spot on the podium.
