Nikki Hamblin famously won silver medals in the 800 and 1500 at the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi and holds the New Zealand 1500 record at 4:04.82 as well as the second fastest ever time for 800 at 1:59.66. Born in England, Nikki moved to New Zealand in 2006 and gained New Zealand citizenship in 2009. Based in Waikato, she has represented New Zealand at two World Championships, at Berlin in 2009 and Daegu, Korea in 2011 in both the 800 and 1500, as well as representing Oceania at the 2010 Continental Cup in Split. Injury prevented Hamblin from competing at the 2012 London Olympics and the 2013 Moscow World Championships, but she is running well again, with a 4:07.07 1500m time in Los Angeles in May.
