Waikato athlete Katherine has won many Championship Titles and broken records at Club and Waikato/BOP level in many disciplines. She has won NZ Titles in Triple Jump and 400m both at Club and Secondary School level. Now at Tulsa University in Oklahoma, USA, Katherine has transitioned to the 800m and is currently studying Exercise and Sport Science. She has had great success running for her university having won the Conference USA Indoor 800-metre run and C-USA Outdoor 800 metres the last two seasons. She posted a PB in May 2014 of 54.19 for the 400m to earn her place in the women’s relay team.

The Women’s 4 x 400m squad is the first athletics relay team selected for a major Championship since the Melbourne Commonwealth Games in 2006. The team ran the qualifying time at a special attempt in Hamilton over Easter 2014 and did it in style with a time of 3:35.60.
