2017 Timaru Hurdles Festival

Venue Aorangi Stadium, Timaru

Saturday information The 2017 Timaru Hurdles Festival will be held in conjunction with the Lovelock Classic meeting in Timaru.
The morning session will include 100m hurdles and 80m hurdles races for Grades 14, 13, and 12. The afternoon session will include 400m hurdles, 300m hurdles, 110m hurdles, and 100m hurdles races for seniors, U20 and U18. Register directly through the Athletics Canterbury website

Sunday Workshop On the Sunday a workshop will he held for athletes, coaches, and parents.
A practical coaching session will be held for athletes aged 12 to 18 years old. The session will start at 10am, followed by a BBQ at midday. To register, please email with your name, age, PB, and which workshop you will be attending (Timaru or Hamilton). There will be a $5 charge per athlete, paid on the day.

In addition, a workshop will be held for coaches and parents. Joe Hunter will present his methods of introducing young athletes to hurdles and how he would typically progress them through the stages of beginner to intermediate to advanced. To register, please email your name and which workshop you will be attending (Timaru or Hamilton). Also please indicate your level of experience in coaching hurdles. (All levels are welcome.) There is no charge to coaches and parents to attend this workshop.
