Constitution & By-Laws

A new constitution was adopted at the Athletics New Zealand AGM on 23rd July 2010.
This constitution will come into effect once it is lodged with the Registrar of Incorporated Societies. In due course By-Laws will be replaced by Regulations. Until that time Competition By-Laws and Administration By-Laws shall continue in force and be binding on members as if they were Regulations except for sections A1 (Council) and A3 (Board of Directors) which shall be revoked upon the commencement of the new constitution.

New constitution can be found here

The previous Athletics New Zealand Constitution was divided into four sections as listed below. Changes to the Rules are made via remits that are voted on at the AGM, while By-Law changes are made by the Board according to a By-Law change protocol. This process includes a 42 day By-Law change notification, and such notifications  are posted on the website as well as being sent to the sport in our monthly mailout.  All documents are in pdf format.

SECTION 1 - RULES (August 09)

SECTION 2 - BY-LAWS - ADMINISTRATION The By-Laws - Administration add more detail to many of the Association's Rules and are prefixed by the letter "A". (October 08)

SECTION 3 - BY-LAWS - COMPETITION The By-Laws - Competition set out the rules governing all New Zealand Championships and Records and are prefixed by the letter "C". (December 09)
